New York City. The applicant must be able to compute weights of loads, use of
all types of rigging equipment, handel practical rigging problems, and have
knowledge of safety measures and accident prevention. The practical test

The
destination, “Master Rigger” lets our clients know Dun-Rite Specialized is
qualified to perform the work at hand. Only a Master Rigger can secure
sidewalk closing permits for the use of cranes through the New York City
Department of Transportation. We are bonded to do so.
Rope Hoisting
This
type of hoisting harkens back to the period of maritime sailing. The same
engineering principles applied hundreds of years ago are employed to undertake
these operations today. This form of hoisting as truly an art form!
A Special
Rigger license allows the licensee to hoist articles of 1200 pounds or less
on the outside of any building in New York City. On occasion, placement of a
crane is physically impossible due to external field conditions, such as in the
back or on the side of a building or if the building height is beyond the
financial practicality of a crane. Dun-Rite has hoisted items by rope as high as
36 stories.
